Ian has co-founded another company called Laser Light Engines and acts as the Chief Operating Officer. The company is developing a new kind of very high powerd laser that can make red, blue and green light from a single laser beam. It will have many illumination applications including digital cinema and other large projectors, light shows, advertizing displays and theater lighting. The company started in May 2008 and is hard at work getting ready to "Show the movie" as the Bill, the  CEO calls it.  The product will replace very large, (>5 kilowatt arc lamps), with a light source that is stable, cheap to run, does not burn out and is digitally adjustable in such areas as color balance.  Click here for the LLE web site.
