Welcome to the multimedia section of the Turner family website. I spent 5 years of winter evenings scanning all of our old chemical pictures to get up to the year 2000 when we completely switched to digital cameras.  Since the early 2000s we have also been converting our 8mm tape library into computer readable files and burning DVDs for distribution to our relatives. I have now begun to convert these into streaming video and I have added the first few of these to the website.

I have organized the database into three sections, namely an "Album" section which contains collections of photographs based upon themes such as "Boating" a "Chronology" section based purely on the date a photograph was taken if I know it, and the latest section which is the collection of some our videos.  The whole collection is a work in progress as I continue to edit caption information to help identify the content more accurately.  I continue to find photographs filed under the wrong date so I am sure there are many more yet to be identified. If you see an error please email me so I can fix it.

There are currently 13,617 photographs on this site through June 2011.  The site is generated completely automatically by a program called Jalbum. The photographs are initially displayed at reduced resolution for Internet browsing but if you look carefully you will see a small blue down arrow to the right of the picture that will open the original file of any picture which you can examine at high resolution or download the file. Please give me credit for the picture if you republish it on the Internet.......... Ian
